Customizing Aisle Mapping for Faster Grocery Order Processing
The fast pace of the grocery business leaves little time for aisle mapping. That's why ShopHero has made it easy to aisle map your store layout through customizing a setting called Picking Priorities. In order to access this setting simply go to your admin panel, navigate to the "Products and Inventory" tab, and select "Aisle Mappings.”
In the "Picking Priorities" section, you can easily modify the order of aisles or remove them to suit the layout of your store. For instance, if aisle 10 is the closest to the back room where your picker receives the order, you can adjust the order of Picking Priorities so that the picker starts at aisle 10, resulting in a more efficient workflow. From this starting point the system assigns each item in the order along the most efficient, non-redundant path through the aisles, eliminating the need for the picker to search for items in different aisles.
Adding Aisle Mapping Data to Your POS
If you don't have this aisle location data in your POS system already, you may be able to get them from aisle mapping or planogram files you already use.
We are also able to map products based on their category. Your account manager can provide you with a simple category-based spreadsheet that allows you to assign an aisle to every category. This process takes less than an hour, resulting in a more streamlined picking and fulfillment process.
