Edit the Information on Specific Products
NOTE: You must be logged in as an Admin on the website to have access to Product Editing
Find a Product to Edit from the Website
1. From the website, enter the Product Description in the Search bar at the top of the page.
2. Click on the Edit icon (pencil).
Find a Product to Edit from the Admin Panel
1. From within the Admin Panel, click on Products & Inventory and select Overview from the sub-menu.This will take you to the Products – Overview page in the Admin Panel.
2. Search for the product needing to be linked by entering a UPC/PLU or a Keyword in the appropriate field.
General Product Information:
- Online Description: This is the product name customers will see on your website and this can be edited.
NOTE: Products without an Online Description will not appear on the website.
- POS SKU: provided by your store POS report
- ShopHero SKU: provided by ShopHero
- POS Description: provided by your POS report
- Brand: provided by your POS report
Product Categories: Most items will have a category assigned automatically by ShopHero.
1. Click on the red X to remove an incorrect or inaccurate category.
2. Right below, select a main category and subcategories from the Category drop-down menu.
3. Click Add Category to save your choices. Product can be assigned more one category by repeating the steps for each category being assigned.
NOTE: Products will not appear on your website until they are assigned to at least one category.
Options Within the Blue Bar
Pricing & Availability /Product Settings
• Available online: Indicates if the product is allowed to be online, based on sales movement and if it is in-stock. A product can be removed from your website by switching this toggle to Disabled.
• Review Status: A product will be Flagged if there is information requiring review by ShopHero or the store. After reviewing the product information on the Product page and finding no issues, the product can be Approved by clicking on the toggle. Flagged items will not appear on your website.
• ShopHero Data Sync: Allows products to automatically sync from your POS database, you will most
likely never manually change this toggle.
• Price Encoded Report: Price-encoded products have the price/weight of the item encoded in the UPC
label. You will most likely never manually change this toggle.
• Age Restricted Product: This will be set as per your store policy, but you may change it if needed.
• POS Price Update: Indicates that prices will automatically update through your POS Data Sync. If you are manually setting prices because the price in the POS system requires adjustment, you will want to disable this toggle to avoid having the price revert to the incorrect price until a correction can be made in your POS Data.
• POS Unit Price Update: Indicates that Unit Price specification will automatically update through your POS Data Sync “unit” if the POS report has something new. If, for example, any of your meat prices show up as being sold by Each rather than by lb. The unit price specification can be manually changed. When this is done, you will want to disable this toggle to avoid having the Unit specification revert to the incorrect specification until a correction can be made in your POS Data.
• POS Movement Update: Movement indicates what is selling and what is no longer selling at the store.
• Quantity Increment: The amount that the product can be incremented by when being added to the cart. For example, bananas can be added by 1 lb. increments, some meat products can be added by .5 lb. increments. -1 is the default for product unit of sale.
Pricing & Availability/Product Inventory
This toggle bar will indicate if the product is available or out of stock, based on your most up-to-date POS Data. This can be manually switched depending upon it known availability

NOTE: These prices will be automatically set through the daily POS Data Sync. If the prices are not included in the POS Data or they are incorrect, they can be manually edited here.
• Case Lot Price: Price for a case; (this feature will not appear on all sites.)
• Base Price: Indicates the product’s regular price.
• TPR Price: Temporary reduced prices are usually set for a longer period of time than sale prices. Entering
a reduced price here will display a Reduced corner banner on the product on the website
• Sale Price: Entering a price here will display a Sale corner banner on the product on the website
• Sale Unit: Select the unit the product is sold by (each, lb., case) from this dropdown menu.
• Effective Date: Prices will automatically be set as effective for one month and will update as new POS Data is uploaded daily. If the price is being set manually this effective date needs entered in the Effective Dates field and the POS Price Update needs to be disabled.
NOTE: The effective dates are not based on your POS information, the start date will always be the day of the last report we have processed (daily) and it will set the end date about a month out. This is just in case one of the files fails to process and to prevent items prices to show as $0 or as in-store price. This start date will change every day when we process the new files. Photo
Under the photo tab, you can upload your own product images.
If the product is already Linked (see Linking below) do not replace the displayed photo.
If a product image is not included in the General Product Information, you can take a picture of the product and upload the image to the necessary product page. Once you upload your product image, click on the Submit Photo for Manual Cropping button. This sends the photo to ShopHero to approve before being added to the website. The image will not immediately be displayed on your website.

Price & Movement History
Information provided here will show a history of the product’s price and movement for the last 6 months.
Linking
Manually Link photos and categories to a product from the ShopHero Database.
This process is normally performed by ShopHero staff. Do not perform this process for items already linked.
ShopHero has a vast library of stock and generic product photos, as well as product category information, located in their PLU database. Search the PLU Library to quickly add a photo and category to a product information. Once the product is linked you can go to the product page and edit the product information, if needed.
How to manually link a product to the ShopHero PLU Database.
1. Below the Linking tab on the blue bar, click the blue Search PLU Library button.
2. In the Search for a Product field, enter the product name for the product you are wanting to link.
3. Select the product image, that will work best, from the displayed options. You will also notice a category for the product.
4. Click Link PLU
This will assign the product image you selected and the category. You may go up to the top section and edit the Online Description and adjust the categories as needed.Attributes
ShopHero will automatically add specific attributes to products. You may check or uncheck any of these for a product and then click on the blue Update Attributes button. A banner, with the chosen attribute, will be displayed in the website product info for the customer to see.Extended Attributes
Clicking the Extended Attributes tab provides space to enter additional product information, such as, Nutritional Facts, Ingredients, Allergens, Directions for Use, Warnings, Usage or Storage Tips, etc., for each product. This information can be accessed by the shopper by clicking on a product’s image and scrolling down the screen.
