Search For Products To Review Their Information
Product Search from Your Website
From the website, both keyword and category searches can be performed. There are a number of ways to search for products and access the information which may require editing. For information about editing products view the Product Editing article.
1. Enter the product name in the search field at the top of the page.
2. Finding the correct product, click on the product image displayed in the list. This will open the website’s product information page.
3. If the desired product is not seen in the displayed list of search results, click on the "View... More Related Products" link at the bottom of the list.
4. Scroll to the desired product. Click the Edit icon (pencil) to access the Product Information page in the Admin Panel where adjustments can be made to the product’s information. For more product editing details, view the Product Editing article.
NOTE: Only when a person designated as a User in the ShopHero system logs in will the Edit icon be displayed. Shoppers will not see it.
Searching by Category – Shop Now
Displayed at the top of every ShopHero website is a bar with a variety of tabs linking the shopper to other pages on the website. Clicking on the Shop Now tab provides access to a listing of product categories.
1. Click on the Shop Now tab.
2. Select a category from the displayed list. (i.e., Organic).
3. Find the desired product from the results displayed on the page. To narrow the search further, select any of the sub-categories listed above displayed product images.
4. Click on the Edit icon in order to access the product’s information in the Admin Panel. For more product editing details, view the Product Editing article.
5. When viewing the search results, note the list of main categories along the left side of the page. Clicking on any of the main category listings will reveal applicable sub-categories.
Searching by Category – Category Tiles
Every ShopHero website homepage also displays several category tiles. Clicking on any of these tiles, take the shopper to a display of products assigned to the selected category. The number of tiles (16) is fixed; however, the store can request tiles that link to different categories and display alternative product images.
1. When a category tile is clicked on (i.e., Fresh Vegetables), an alphabetical list of products will be seen reflecting the sub-categories belonging to the tile’s main category.
2. If the shopper is searching for a specific product within this category, they can select that product from the displayed list.
3. Scrolling down on this page will display all the products belonging to the selected tile’s category or the selected sub-category. From this view the edit icon can be clicked accessing the product information or a shopper can add this product to their cart.
Product Search from the Admin Panel
1. Login to your website and click ADMIN at the top right of the screen. This will open the Admin Panel.
2. Click on Products & Inventory in the left side menu.
3. Click on Overview from the sub menu. This will open the Products – Overview page.
NOTE: Statistical information related to your store’s inventory will be displayed along the top of the Product Search page. Products can be searched for by either PLU or UPC numbers or by the product’s description.
4. Enter a UPC/PLU in the Enter UPC/PLU field and click the Search by UPC/PLU button. This will open the product’s Product page.
5. Or, enter a Keyword (Online Description) in the Enter Keyword field and click the Search by Keyword button.
6. This will provide a list of all the products with the entered keyword in their Online Description. Click on the UPC/PLU link. This will open the product’s Product page.
NOTE: Products that are shown as Flagged in the Verified Product column are products that are not currently being displayed on the website. Product editing will be necessary in order for your shoppers to see these products and add them to their carts.
Adding Products Manually
NOTE: You must be logged in as an Admin on your website to manually add new products.
If your product search does not result in finding the product, you will be given the option to manually add this product to your online inventory.
NOTE: Manually added products will not immediately be found in the daily POS data files.
1. Click on Add Product To Inventory. You will be told that you have successfully added that product and be taken to the Product page where you can edit the product information.
